HEY!

im an international student from germany and currently applying at a few colleges.
i just got my sat results,

w:620
maths:670
cr:610

i want to study international relations.

what are my chances (based on sat’s only) of getting into:
a) NYU
b) Boston College
c) John Hopkins
d) George Washington
e) Boston uni

I’m not good at chancing people but I would suggest you post your gpa and any extra curriculars so others can get a better idea. Good luck! :)

We can’t really say much considering that we don’t know your EC’s, GPA, grades, courses, talents, hooks or the caliber of your essays and recommendations.

But from your SAT’s alone I can say that John Hopkins, George Washington and Boston Colleges appear to be reaches (don’t be discouraged, still apply, you never know unless you try).
Boston University is a match as far as SAT’s go.
And for NYU, we need to know which nyu school you intend to apply to.

i intend to apply to NYU CAS.

NYU is definitely my top choice, so i would appreciate it if someone could chance me in regards to NYU :)

Ec’S: school newspaper, founder of the united nations club at my school, member of the young european federalists, participation at several MUN’S (model united nations), exchange year in australia, several other exchanges to france, morocco, great britain, am a volunteer tutor at my school, got an award for organizing an exhibition within our french department.

As in Germany, we dont have a GPA and don’t have honours courses etc like you do, i really cant say anything about that at the mment,

these are my grades and subjects:
'English: A
FRench: A
German: A
MAths: B
Physics: A
Art: B
History: B
Politics: B
biology: A

Thank you!

Don’t worry, I’m international also and we don’t have GPA, honours or IB.
But from everything that I know, those are good grades and great EC’s for CAS. Your SAT scores are at the lower end of the middle 50% range, but with some great essays demonstrating what you can offer to the school, i’m sure they will understand.
Good luck!
