Any chances in UCD?

Letter grades aren’t helpful to chance you. Need a UC gpa with some accuracy. I don’t remember exactly how to calculate it but I know there are several sites that tell you how, use google to find them.

Looks like you need some extracurriculars, or be specific when talking about “many” achievements in art. And if you plan to do stuff in the summer, being specific about that would help chancing you as well (whether its an internship, volunteering at a hospital, etc…).

Rank 1/23? Your whole class is 23 students? I went to a private school and we had 200 in a class so I wonder what type of school you go to…

Go for at least an 1800 when you take the SAT again. The higher the better of course, though.

Can’t really chance you until the GPA/EC’s thing is addressed at least, sorry. It would also help to know what AP’s you’ve taken/will take at your school.

EDIT: Also I guess you didn’t realize, but UC’s do not take letters of rec, so they’re irrelevant.

Also, there is debate over it, but I personally feel that it doesn’t actually matter whether or not you apply for finaid. By not filling out the fafsa you’re only shooting yourself in the foot unless daddy and mommy are so loaded you just don’t care. The only time that money becomes an issue is whether or not you will be paying in-state or out-of-state tuition.

In an effort to close the budget gap the UC’s are moving towards accepting more out-of-state students since they have to pay nearly 20k more. So if that is you, then you’re relatively more likely to get in than previous years.

NOTE: Sorry if I sound grumpy. It’s late and I’ve had an all-around bad week.

Thank you so much!
It’s not the same as you think. I am an international student. I don’t study in English in my school. It’s not possible to take AP’s–it’s first. I just self study AP Calculus because knowledge will never be waste; moreover, I will take SAT II Math I and Math II, so it’s very important.

I am sure I can get 1900+ in this May. Because english isn’t my first language and I study in school in another, I have difficulties with CR and WR (Especially CR). The SAT I Math is ok. I got almost 700 last time so I am sure I can get 740-770 in May. WR isn’t hard I got mid-600 last time with 9 essay so I think I will get low-700 in May. CR was bad and I am working on it right now–aiming for a 550.

I plan to take 3 subjects. Math II/Physics/Chem(or Math I) As I said I am strong at math so it will be ok

“Many achievements in art” are specifically painting. I am almost proficient in it. I plan to publish a catalog of my paintings (paper both canvas–about 100+) in summer.
Volunterring is impossible in my country

I don’t know what the FSASA is. It’s only for the US citizens–I am not. I will not apply for any US programs/scholarships/ nor UC’s one.

Chances?

There is no GPA in my school. It’s 5/4/3/2 system. 5-great; 4-good;3-fair;2-fail;
Yes I have 23 students in my class.

Oh geez, that explains a lot. Lol sorry but I don’t know what to say about your chances. Hopefully there is someone else on here who can chance an international student. If I see a German girl that I know soon, I’ll ask about her stats.

I just don’t have any experience in chancing international students, sorry, and goodluck!

Thanks! Best of Luck to you too!

bump! Anyone?
