Washington college in Maryland campus has New England feel. They just announced scholarships specifically for those going into education. Really great community and professors.
Someone else mentioned, but I think Salisbury is a solid option in state! I have some friends there, and they appreciate that theyâre mostly in smaller liberal-arts-type classes, as opposed to my friends who ended up at UMD (which I know your kid isnât interested in).
Iâm at Vassar, our EDUC dept might be a little different than some of the others listed here? Ie, some people are on the track to get their teaching certificate while majoring in something else, others are majoring in EDUC but not getting a teaching certificate, others are doing both.
And you were asking about chances⊠at Vassar at least, gender really does matter. Most recent common data set (23-24) shows that admission rate for men was 21.6% and for women was 15.9%. But both of these numbers are actually higher for folks from the US, as about a third of applicants were international, and the international acceptance rate was 4.7%.
Schools post their common data sets in the institutional research sections of their websites if youâre interested in numbers.
