my APES teacher and APUSH teacher really liked me and could probably give me great reccomendations, as my APES teacher already wrote one for my internship.
75% white, 12.5% hispanic, 12.5% asian. male. I go to a STEM high school that offers tons of ap’s in the seattle area.

Maybe a high match for RPI. The UW GPA is extremely low for MIT and Mudd-those will be massive reaches.

ACT looks better than SAT. I would submit that instead. Any safety schools?

I might add RIT and WPI to your list of high match/low reach schools.

MIT and Harvey Mudd are very big reaches with your GPA. You should also be aware that RPI’s average GPA for entering freshmen in 2016 was 3.78 with 66% of the entering class above 3.75. At WPI in 2017 the average entering class GPA was 3.86 with 77% of the students above 3.75. These are not weighted GPAs. These are the latest available data taken from the Common Data Sets found on the related websites. I could not locate the data on the RIT website.

Don’t be discouraged from applying, but you might want to expand your list. Want do you want to study?

Shakespeare may be your friend here!

As I recently retired from my retirement job as an organic farmer, I know you must have learned how to work! We sold directly at three farmers markets each week of our short Maine summer. Your Shakespearean vegetable presentations should brighten the day at farmers’ markets.

You are a competitive applicant. Your stats and ECs are good. Write great essays and you could get accepted to any of these schools

Your 1480 will make MIT and Mudd very distant reaches. Your EC’s need to be truly distinctive to compensate for 1480.

I agree that Mudd and MIT are high reaches. Being Hispanic is a slight hook, but probably not enough to overcome your GPA.
