Transferring at Michigan is almost impossible.
Transferring at NYU is possible, but definitely not easy.
Note that Michigan out of state non-Ed Ross is nearly impossible and Stern is rumored to reject anyone without a 1550. In other words, you have no choice but to apply into Econ or something else if you want to receive serious consideration.
