You should have no problem getting into Baylor, but I do not know how much (if any) merit aid Baylor may offer you.

@RealityCheck13 I actually just got in to Baylor with 20 k a year. Thanks for the comment!

@ajwetzel …Congratulations! That is a nice accomplishment!

Congrats on acceptance to Baylor!

Full disclosure: as an alum, UIUC Geis will be your most economical – and arguably one of the best – options in your list for the majors you note. While UIUC’s in-state tuition isn’t as competitive as other state schools’ rates (and it looks like UIUC is the only state school other than Purdue, which doesn’t hand out much merit either) , it’ll be the biggest bargain of the bunch. Although, I believe actuarial science is not within the Gies College of Business (Gies admission being among the toughest UIUC admits).

I’m no expert, but based on what I’ve heard, you should be very competitive for admission to Gies.

My D19 is a sophomore in engineering at UIUC and is enjoying it so far. We’re happy to have her close to home, particularly now.

Good luck to you!

@SDC9160 thanks so much for your input! The AS major is in the college of arts and sciences but I applied with a second choice major in Gies (it was tough to decide which should be my first choice). I really like Purdue but have heard a lot of other people say they don’t give that much $

Do you want to major in accounting or actuarial science as opposed to economics ?

Also, your desired major should affect your list of schools.

I think that you are a strong candidate for admission to all of your listed schools including Northwestern.

Northwestern doesn’t have an undergraduate business school, so I assume you’d be limited to the Econ major there?

@SDC9160 yes
