Chance me (not competitive at all)

GPA - 3.33

SAT - 1210/1600 (math 630, lang 580) took twice, don’t feel like taking it again…

Classes of interest - Took AP Biology in 10th grade, got a 70 in the class >_>, 5 on the exam though… Took AP US in 11th grade, got a mid-B and 5 on the exam… Other than those two classes the rest of my schedule consists of honors mixed with some regular courses.

Senior Class Schedule - Regular English, AP Chem, Government, Latin II Honors, Physics, AP Calculus…

EC - JV Tennis in 10th grade, a bunch of random clubs such as DECA, JCL, etc… Which I really didn’t participate in much… I’ll provide an explanation for this later >_>…

Hobbies/interests - I build computers? Don’t know if that would really count or not =…

Rank - Err… not entirely sure but 166/500 or something along those lines…

Other Info: Male, Asian, go to one of the top public schools in Georgia

Reasons (excuses >:|) for my suck: As you can see I’m taking Latin II my senior year… The reason is that I changed schools THREE times during high school, and the school I switched to wouldn’t have the language I took previously… In addition this somewhat accounts for my fail on extra curriculars… I also was depressed throughout a good deal of high school because I was extremely lonely during most of it, I’m not exactly good with new people… Essentially, I was lazy throughout high school, and now I regret it of course…

Anyways I hope to attend one of these colleges…

University of Georgia - I already sent my early action application to this school, the only things they required for this were transcript, SAT scores, and counselor evaluation… So I want to chanced based on this information if possible… Rolling admissions btw…

Georgia Tech

Emory - assuming I apply early decision

Rutgers

Georgia State is my back-up…

By the way I have a side question - UGA says they will get a decision to early action applicants by December 15… Now I was wondering how often do colleges send out decisions earlier than this? I’m really anxious and I would just like to know…

Thanks in advance =D!

GPA and SAT is too low for both Emory and Georgia Tech.

Almost a match at UGA–I’d definitely apply there if I were you–especially with their Hope Scholarship program for in-staters.

I think you are a match at Rutgers and a safe match at Georgia State.

Good luck

P.S. Most schools give decisions around mid-January. Some wait until April 1st.

GA and GS look ok, I think Rutgers might be tough, look up its stats, it has been a while since I looked at it. Emory seems tough also.

I think Rutgers, GA, and GS are all good for you (meaning match). Emory and Georgia Tech are top schools. I know a kid who had a 1420 on his SAT and had a 3.85 gpa and he didn’t get into GT (just to give you an example of how tough it is)

Hmm… alright, cool… I’m mainly aiming for UGA anyways with a possibility to going to the others if accpeted… Also, what about my other question…

Btw, thanks guys =D!

If you look at my second post above, you’ll see I discussed when most schools give out decisions.

Generally the schools that have late decisions are the ones most in demand. So schools like NYU, Georgetown, Harvard, Yale, etc. are the ones that give out the latest decisions.
