Hi hope that got your attention lol ok now help me out here:

I got 1730 on SATS (math sux lol)
3.576 GPA (all AP and IB classes–BOTH!!)
BUT
good extracurricular stuff
like science research, won some awards for that and also published paper on streptothricosis (genetic disesease, trying to find cure)
and also soccer team captain and NHS VP and also Pro-Life club founder & prez
1500 volunteer hours at Habitat for Humanity helping to build houses for impoverished blind prostitutes in Eritrea

what are my chances at these places:

Harvard
Swarthmore (parents making me apply)
UVirginia
and finally… Hampden-Sydney College in Hampden-Sydney VA

hello i hope i don’t offend u in any way because thats not my purpose. and i dont plan to or anything i just hope u dont take it in the wrong way lol

im only a junior so i’m not sure how helpful this will be… but i think u might have a chance at uva? i know it’s pretty hard to get in there though…
as for harvard and swarthmore, i think itll be a pretty big stretch just because of your sat and gpa. if u took your sats again and got at least a 2000, i think you’d have a better chance. your ecs look good its just the number might be a little low

um. what’s your ethnicity? Unless your published paper is in a reallyyy good magazine it would not offset your SAT and GPA. Since you’re in virginia maybe UVA will take you. Harvard and swathmore? probably not

I think that you will need to add 200 points to the SAT for UVA. Harvard is … well, Harvard. Again, a better score would help enhance your chances.

As for H-S, you got a shot at a full ride there. Keep that in mind as you apply. Take a look at the admissions page.

Harvard and Swarthmore…not really a chance there based on your scores and GPA…I know you may be taking an insanely hard schedule but your GPA needs to be higher and so does your SAT. Try taking an prep class or do a SAT overload in the summer.

UVA is a really good school. You certainly have a shot there, especially if you improve your GPA and standardized testing scores. Try VT or College of W&M?

“impoverished blind prostitutes in Eritrea”–hahaha. Impoverished AND blind? Oh my. Also, I love how you’ve spent over half a year helping them… A virtual saint!

And a quick google search reveals that streptothricosis is definitely not a genetic disease.

Hahahah i love how this is one of the yellow-buttoned threads on this forum.
The name streptothricosis alone gives away the fact its a bacteria, not a “genetic DISESEASE.”
i suggest you lay off the magic mushrooms and continue your good work with our friends at habitat for humanity

Come on guys, you don’t have to be so rude.
And as for crzyfreek’s chances you will certainly need at LEAST 2000 in SAT
to even have a shot of getting into Swarthmore and Harvard.

The first post in this thread is suspicious, for a couple of reasons. First, of course, the impoverished blind prostitutes. I don’t think so. Second, I don’t think anybody with those stats is seriously looking at Harvard. But what’s weird is that somebody with those stats might really consider Hamden Sydney. So I think it’s a ■■■■■ post, but it’s not so totally trolly to make me 100% sure.
