i am a senior in high school, i have mostly b’s, and this year i am taking three ap courses: physics, calc, and econ. each year i have been increasing my number of honors and ap classes, my grades are fairly consistent, some a’s, some b’s, and every now and then a c (especially in physics). I am a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, a camp counselor for 5 year old, the president of my math team, and have been playing the piano since 5 years old.

i got a 28 on my act and as for sat:
math: 720
critical reading: 610
writing: 600

i currently have a 3.4 unweighted gpa, and a 4.2 weighted, only because i had a really poor freshman year. Ive visited bu 3 times, sat in on a class, and have gone to as many boston university functions as i can.

please chance me, i know that bu is the school for me, and in my essays i expressed how it was my top choice.

Julie, its sounds like you have made a nice record for yourself. You have a good shot at BU. Just bear in mind that BU got over 38,000 applications for 4,000 spots.

According to the information you provided, you have a very good shot at BU. Seeing that BU accepts more than half of their applicants, you only really need to be in the top half of their applicant pool which you most likely are. I’m not saying that its a breeze to get into BU, but your odds should be pretty high.

Boston University had 41,734 applicants for the class of 2015, so almost 42,000. Northeastern had 42,876 for the class of 2015, so nearly 43,000. That’s a lot of applicants, for both schools!

It really depends on which college you’re applying into. For engineering, sorry to say, you won’t get in because you have no technical activities. I would say you have a pretty good shot at CAS though.

Also, I have a friend applying as an electrical engineer. He has a 28 act, a 4.2 weighted gpa, and is in our schools engineering university program in Which he takes advanced science classes (right now he is in ap physics c) and other engineering courses like digital electronics and drafting. He is in robotics and math club, and his essay is about a moment of triumph and how he came to want to pursue electrical engineering. What are his chances?
