So I am applying to the following schools Northwestern University, Babson College, Hampshire College, Hofstra, Maryville in St Louis, Pace and University of Illinois at Urbana.
I think that one of the main problems will be the fact that I graduated 2007 and havent been to a school since then. I am also an international applicant and it seems many of the universities are confused by my grades, etc. Most requested me to send them Mid-Year reports and stuff like that, that are not applicable since I graduated in 2007. And the saddest, Hofstra which is pretty much my top choice lost my SAT scores, I did resend them but they are still pending, and I am really scared that because of this and it is already February, I applied rolling adm, they will reject me.

So here is the info:

SAT Math - 740 Critical Reading - 650 Writing 610(bummer) (composite of exactly 2000)
SAT II Math - 760
and…that’s pretty much with tests
I intended on testing on January for another two SATs but my drama exam was during the same time and I couldnt go.

GPA(so this is in a different grading system 2 to 6 where 6 is the highest possible) I have an average of 5.8 which is 97%
We do not have ranking

Recommendations: From my teacher of English, German and Math, who was also sort of like a school counselor, but we dont really have that here, every group(around 23 students) from a class has a teacher responsible for that group, so my Math teacher was that person. My recommendations are really good, but I cannot be sure about that, because in Bulgaria this is not a really popular practice, and most people get confused when they are asked about a rec. We dont have like an official class(group) representative, but I did do most of the work involved with a post like that.

Work experience:
American Restaurants - Cashier - 8 months
Regional Archeological Museum in the town of Varna - Tourist Guide - 2 months
Sofia Film Fest - Volunteer - 1 month
and I also translated and guided for a Missionary Team from the States for a month this summer

EC’s
Advanced Math Classes (9,10,11,12) - though this is not a big deal from me, because I attended a school with math and computers orientation, but I do have Certificates from different Olympiads and National Competitions that I have sent copies of
Advanced Physics Classes(9,10) - pretty much the same with Math, but not that achieved in that section
Astronomy Courses(11,12)
Basketball Team(9,10,11,12) - we were not much of a team, but we got 3rd on a National Competition my last year of high-school
Tennis(9,10,11,12) - I participated only in local tournaments, and dont have certificates or places
Latin and Standard Dances(10,11,12) - I really enjoyed, but was kind of late to start competing or anything like that
Drama Club(10,11,12) - I participated into two plays, after graduation I moved to a bigger city and joined another drama club, that soon will become accredited, I have 2 certificates from them, though I just earned the last one, as I said my SAT IIs were on the same day as my drama exam, so I have sent the only the first certificate.

I also have a CCNA certificate.
Though it may seem I want to major in Math/Computers or anything related to that I actually am more interested in Advertising, because I think it combines all the things that I am interested in. As Social Work, I have been a really active part from my church, for several years now we go to different orphanages during the winter holidays, do a puppet show, play with the kids and give them presents. I also go to summer missionary teams for many years now too, where we repair playgrounds, teach English, visit orphanages, etc. At my church we also started gathering books for one particular orphanage.

I am really concerned because:
- I graduated from high-school 2007, I already had a letter from WUSTL that they dont want to review my application because they cannot accurately evaluate my academics because I graduated too many years ago.
- Universities are really confused by the fact that my high-school transcripts are part of my high-school Diploma. I am also concerned that they might have difficult understanding them since they are on a different grading system from 2-6 where 6 is the highest possible. I have a 5.80 which is like 97 %.
- Schools in Bulgaria do not keep record of your ECs, Social Work, etc There are actually not many ECs(or SW) offered here, mainly sports such as basketball, volley and soccer, that is pretty much it. I attended different outside of school clubs and my info is pretty much what I provide them with, but in reality when you think of it there is not much of an evidence that I attended all the things mentioned above, well except for e few Certificates. I did write a letter explaining my Social Work for the past year and asked my pastor to sign it. I hope that is enough.

Please chance me. And do you think that my chances at Hofstra are really slim because of the late SAT scores, do you also know how much time it takes for SAT scores to be send, if they were taken months ago. I have been checking the Collegeboard website every 10 minutes to see if my scores are still pending, it has been 4 days since I made the payment and resent them.

Thank You.
