Looking to major in International Relations/Mechanical Engineering.

Schools that I am interested in and would like to be chanced at:
UMass Amherst
American University
George Washington University
University of Miami
University of Rochester
Northeastern University
Emory University
Georgetown University (SFS)
Brown University

I’m not too familiar with all of these schools but from what I know:
UMass Amherst: safety
American University: match
George Washington University: match
U of M: match
U of R: match
Northeastern: match
Emory: high match/ low reach
Georgetown SFS: reach
Brown: high reach

I think you’ll get into most of your matches.

Chance back:

I agree with @ap012199 . I think that Georgetown and Brown are your only true reaches. I’d send your ACT as it is better than your SAT. Make sure to narrow down that list of activities to your most important 10. Perhaps think about retaking the ACT in the fall if you have a chance to and/or apply ED to Brown/Georgetown if they are your first picks.

Chance back please:

I agree with the others. And plus, you have a BOATLOAD of extracurricular and volunteer stuff. You’re going to be fine, don’t stress so much, we’re in the same boat here(:

As a first gen and w/ those ECs, I think you get very well get into all those schools except SFS and Brown. For Georgetown and Brown, I would recommend taking the SAT or ACT again, so you are a more competitive applicant in those top schools  good luck!!
