I applied in Mid-October to the School of Arts and Sciences in New Brunswick for Fall 09, what are my chances of getting in, and when do you think I’ll be notified of a decision?

Your not in guaranteed…don’t listen to this meathead supernamek4000.Another down grader of Rutgers status.Anyway…is your high school competitive?Your ranking is good, but if it was 9 out of 181 then you would be in good shape.Your SAT score is marginal, your GPA is decent.Based on what the incoming 2009 freshman class is representing as far as grades I would say you are on the median scale.Different times here at Rutgers now.Everyone wants to come to Rutgers,so that raises the selectivity bar.I would say a guaranteed student in Rutgers would be a top 10% finisher in a “good” high school,1300 on the SAT’s ( old scoring) and some respectable extra-curricular activities.Give it a shot.I personally think you will get wait listed…but I have been wrong before. As far as the afro-american thing…not look on as favorably as it use to( not in a racial way).Rutgers looks past the race and color thing these days.Yes it does help a little, but Rutgers is so ethinically diverse that caucasian student get as much of a fair shake as the hispanic, asian, and afro-american cultures.Good luck…I hope you get in

I think youll be fine, you just need to take into account the fact that Rutgers is becoming tougher to get into, due to several factors. All and all I think youll be ok but i cant say for sure I dont work in admission!
