Chance Me Please! Not Sure Where I Stand

Hello!

Despite lurking around the CC threads, this is my first time posting, so please excuse me for any mistakes or if this comes off the wrong way!

Anyways, I just wanted to know my chances in these schools (though I know a good chunk of them are out of my reach) and if there is any glimmer of hope, if say, I could hopefully carry a good essay or any outside circumstances would be considered for my less than stellar scores or mediocre EC’s.

**Colleges I’m looking into (I got fee waivers from CB for most of them and my school fee waivers for the UCs so): **
Stanford (I’m sure it’s too high of a reach, but I don’t want to regret not trying)
Columbia (another too high ^^)
UPENN (^^)
John Hopkins
Maybe University of Washington, St. Louis
Maybe NYU
USC
UC Berkeley (^^)
UCLA
UCI
UC Davis
UCR
**Intended Major: ** Biology (or should I say undecided? someone told me that might be better in the more competitive schools)

* CollegeBoard gave me 8 application fee waivers, but I can’t use them for UC’s, so I was wondering if anyone knew any other colleges that I should take a look into applying since I have a few fee waivers left over? *

UW GPA: 4.00, W: 4.8
Class Rank: 1
SAT Score: 1940 | CR: 670, Math: 610, Writing: 660, Essay: 11
(this is what I’m most afraid of, though I’m going to try again in December because I didn’t get a chance to study for the November one)
**SAT Subject Tests: ** I didn’t know about them until recently, and my strength is biology but I haven’t taken the course in two years, any advice with this?
APs: Biology, World History, Computer Science, English Lang, US History | Currently taking: Calculus BC, Chemistry, Macroeconomics (which will be gov next semester), English Lit.
Gender: F
Ethnicity: This is a little complicated. I’m pretty sure I’m Chinese, yet I speak Thai and my family grew up in Thailand, and with how I look I can pass as either or, and my last name is made up so…

Competitiveness of high school: another thing that could hurt me, not very competitive… (and thus I feel like I had fewer opportunities)

AP Scholar with Distinction and QuestBridge Finalist, if that helps

Extracurriculars (another thing I’m wary about, since I don’t feel they’re strong)
-Tennis (4 years, Varsity 2)
-President of Key Club and Division News Editor this year, Club Editor last year (4 years)
-Vice President of NHS, Secretary last year (4 years)
-CSF Secretary this year (4 years)

-Academic Decathlon (3 years)
-Link Crew (1 year)
-Best Buddies (2 years)
-Played piano for over 10 years
-Thai danced and performed in several places before
-Volunteered at the Buddhist temple for a long time, tutored, library volunteer, and was a ball girl at a college tennis tournament before
-Worked for my parent’s TV station as cameraman, sold handmade charms online

**I hope I don’t come off as extracurricular padding, but I really do enjoy and pursue each and every one of them. **

Also, will submitting an art supplement increase my chances? My strength is graphic design and website design which was all self-taught, and my friend told me they’d be good enough to turn into as an art supplement (but again, I’m not sure, PM me and I could send samples to help evaluate them?), but I’m not sure how graphic design will be submitted…

Sorry if this is long or I don’t know as much as I should have! I wasn’t sure what to include so I kind of included everything to see my chances. Thank you so much for all of your time and have a great day! c:

Your ec’s are good (not great). Your weakest Pont is definitely Sat so aim for 2100+ in December. Your main problem though is you haven’t taken your subject tests and there is no plausible way for you to take them before deadlines. So you should take the ACT in December since some schools will take that instead.

Alright, thank you for the advice! Should I just go ahead and try for a November SAT on the waiting list so I can fit in a subject test and SAT?

Bump! Oh! And since a lot of colleges are out of my range, maybe some suggestions of good colleges for aspiring pre-med within my range would be great! :D

For another pre-med school look at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Your stats line up there.

You’re a QB Finalist. You MUST use your essays to your advantage. Too bad you only ranked Stanford.
