I can’t really chance you for NYU because their admission process is an absolute mystery to me, however, I want to give you one work of advice: for your essay, make sure it doesn’t sound like you are asking for pity or making excuses, try to write it in such a way to show that because of your diabetic condition, you want to get into the medical field. I wish you the best of luck!! :)

Yea that’s what I did…I didn’t want to make it seem like I was extremely sickly and would miss a lot of class or anything. I went for the old “overcoming my obstacles inspired me to continue on” essay. And do I atleast seem in the realistic realm of getting in? (btw I forgot to mention i’m in top 10% of my class out of 412 people, if that makes a difference)

everyone talks about stern being highly competitive and it somewhat overshadows the difficulties of CAS.
the pre-med track in CAS is seriously no joke. people drop like flies and many crack under pressure. you’ve done well on your SAT Subject Bio and AP Bio which will do you great benefit but you’ll still be another asian sleeping in the library during finals week.

your SAT score is average and is likely the weakest part of your application. That being said, i think you’re likely to get in (if not LSP is always an option).

haha i’m not asian…i’m a white guy from DIRTY JERSEY, but seriously i’m aware about the difficulty of NYU’s premed program, thats why I want to go there, it’ll look very good on med school apps as long as i keep my gpa up.
