Your grades and extracurriculars are very competitive. Your SAT is a bit on the low end, but it shouldn’t matter much. If your essays were good and highlighted your leadership positions, you should have a good chance at any college.

However, your deferral might indicate that your essays or recommendations weren’t outstanding. Don’t get your hopes down, but it’s harder to get accepted in regular decision.

Thanks! I know my SAT is a little low and that’s what I’m worried about. After taking each test once my ACT was higher so I retook that. I thought I didn’t need to take the SAT again since most colleges want one or the other…

Also I was deferred to Wharton. I had not sent them information about my work with the business professor so I will be sending them an update including a report I wrote for him, updates (National Merit Finalist, spearheading a campaign in student council, soccer captainship), and also a supplemental letter of recommendation from my principal. My principal is highlighting my leadership and personality in school. Do you think this might help my chances?

Northwestern University low reach
University of Chicago low reach
Georgetown low reach
NYU match
Columbia, number of apps increased a lot, high reach
Harvard,Princeton - high reach
University of Pennsylvania - midreach

yeah i think you’ve got a pretty good chance, ec’s are impressive and the gpa is great! idk about some of the top ivies like harvard, but theyre dice shots for even the best of the best so good luck!

Great EC’s and ACT score, but have you considered taking SAT IIs? Those would help, as well. Great job overall…you have a better-than-normal shot at all of your schools.

Your chances seem reasonable at a mid-cut school, like NYU, but the ivies are definitely looking for 2200 plus sats, especially since you’re indian.
