To be frank, Northwestern seems to be a pretty big reach for you. Your ACT is definitely below that of most other applicants as is your GPA. Those are two vital parts of your application (especially the latter), and they are both way below average. You mentioned that your high school doesn’t have AP courses, so that’s not your fault…although it makes me wonder even more why your GPA is so low. But getting to my point, I think it definitely shows initiative on your part that you went out and pursued 5 college courses locally to supplement your high school curriculum. That’s a nice plus. While your extracurriculars are nothing all too out of the ordinary, they still seem like a nice list, and I particularly like that your activities resume shows that you have several passions that you pursued all throughout your years in high school. Dedication always looks wonderful to an admissions officer. You also work a good load and have a nice amount of volunteer hours and have even spent your summers meaningfully.

However, I all see it coming full circle back to your GPA and standardized scores. But remember this: pipe dreams are never completely impossible. Stranger things have happened. It’s a reach, but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen - apply and work your tail off on your essays. Good luck!
