I’m a rising senior who goes to a large public high school but attend a very competitive program within the school. My rank is 33/896 with a 99.29 cumulative avg. I’ve only taken one ap throughout the first 3 years because that’s the most my school offered and expect a 4 in US. However this year I’m taking 4 ap’s. My SAT is a 1940 and retaking expect 2200+. Took SAT 2 math 1-730 math 2-760 physics-800. My ec’s are what I consider my strong point. I have done Extra Curriculars: ACE Mentor Prgram (architecture, construction, engineer) S,J,Se Key Club Officer S,J,Se (treasurer) NYC Tech Cuny College Engineering Summer Program July-Aug 2011 Robotics S,J,Se (Captain) Soccer Varsity F,S Track F Cooper Union Summer Research Intership Program July-Aug 2012 Community Service Hours- 100 NHS Junior and learn program= internship at local hospital assisting 100+ hours. I come from a first generation family in America and both parents did not go to college.

Doesn’t matter if you consider your ECs your strong point. Columbia will consider your academic achievement your crucial point. If you are not competitive academically, it really doesn’t matter what your ECs are.

Your SAT IIs are excellent. However, your SAT I is NOT competitive at all. What you EXPECT is irrelevant. Please retake and then come back with the ACTUAL new score and re-post your thread.

At this moment you are not really a competitive applicant (SAT I), but you could possibly become one.
