I’m a senior at a public high school in Southern California. I’m Mexican, second generation. My parents both attended San Diego State University.

In high school I have taken the highest level classes I was offered each year. Being in the IB program I took rigorous classes that provides 6 hours of homework a night on average and have a 3.7 weighted GPA. I am in the top 15% of my school even with a low- end GPA. My GPA is kind of an opposite bell curve since my brother died my sophomore year and so my grades were greatly impacted.
On my first SAT I got a 1820 and took it again this month hoping for a 2000+.

I’m Historian for Interact, President of Cinema Club, Publicist for Veterans Club, and an Editor for Journalism. Aside from that I have over 200 community service hours throughout high school with the local A.C.E.S. mentoring program, animal shelter, and cancer walks. I have assisted in the launch of a county wide campaign to eradicate Polio and our efforts have been recognized by the SACK foundation and the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation.
