Hi Everyone,
I am a rising senior who is interested in William and Mary, Davidson, Lehigh, Bucknell, UNC, Elon, Franklin and Marshall, and Villanova
State: NC
Gender: Female
SAT: 1950. 650 CR, 660 M, 640 W
I know that this SAT score isn’t the best and I think that it’s probably my biggest liability in applying to colleges especially William and Mary and Davidson.
Also, the College Board says that most colleges will convert the old SAT for the class of 2017 into the new SAT so my score converted into the new SAT is a 1380.
Planning on taking BioM and Lit subject tests in October. Aiming for a 700+
GPA 4.0 UW, 4.19 W (the highest weighted GPA possible is 4.25)
My school does not offer AP classes or IB. The highest level my school offers is honors
Freshman year: I only took 2 honors out of the 7 offered because I had heard that the school was hard but a week after I realized that I should have taken more honors but it was too late to sign up.
Sophomore year: took 7 out of 7 honors offered
Junior year: took 9 out of 9 honors offered
Senior year: will be taking 9 out of 9 honors offered
My school does not rank but I do know that 3 of us are in the running for Valedictorian
Field of Study: I would like to major in Biochemistry/Biomedical engineering and do premed
EC’s/ Awards:
Science Olympiad for 3 years
JCL (junior classical league, it’s a Latin completion) for 3 years. Will either be president or vp
Debate Club
Service Club
One of the top ranked junior tennis players in North Carolina and have been playing tennis for 7 years. (I am thinking about playing college tennis at a couple schools listed above)
Part of the Junior Volunteer Program at a hospital last summer (120+ hours)
This summer I had an internship at Duke hospital in the Eye Research Institute. I got to learn their protocol, grow my own cells, extract tissue from a donor’s eye, ect. I think that it was a great experience and I think I should mention it because of my interest in science.
Made Headmaster’s list every semester (3.89 GPA or higher)
Part of my school’s honor society
Nation Latin exam: Cum Laude (Freshman), Magna Cum Laude (Sophomore) and Maxima Cum Laude (Junior)
Letters of Rec:
All of them should be very good. My counselor and the 2 teachers I asked know me very well.
I really am most interested in seeing what my chances are for W & M and Davidson since I believe that those are the biggest reach for me
I would appreciate anyone’s advice! Thank you!!
