Hey everyone and thanks for taking a look at my stats. Basically I want a little help in figuring out what I should do for the rest of high school, as well as in college, in order to get where I want to be.

Goal: EVENTUALLY (Obviously right out of high school would be great, but I don’t think its too likely) I want to get into a Top 10 undergrad business program. During my time in undergrad I want to take part in the summer analyst programs at some of the major investement banks. I would plan to take an analyst position after graduation and then pursue an MBA from one of the Top 10 business grad programs.

Stats

I go to a public high school in Denver Colorado, known for its athletics. I started my junior year today. They have sent quite a few people on to high ranked div 1 schools, but it seems only for athletics. I, however, am not athletic.

GPA: 3.7 - Upward trend. This year I feel that I have found some sort of a direction. I really want to change my outlook on school, chance some of the people I have been hanging out with, and make something of myself.

Thus far I have taken every honors course available, excluding electives (not offered) This year (my junior year) I will continue the honors courses with Honors Trig/Pre-Calc, Honors Chem, Honors history, AP Lang. The other 3 classes are still open and I have a meeting with my counsler tomorrow to fill.

PLAN (pre-ACT) 31 composite, I know it was tied for the best in the school. IDK what this translates to on the ACT, but atleast a 31 since the plan is out of 32 and the ACT is 36.

PSAT - I dont know the exact scores, but I know it was the 96th percentile of sophmores and 87th or something of Juniors. I will ask for a copy tomorrow in the counseling office.

ECs

Eagle Scout at age of 14 with a gold and bronze palm- project completed at 13, documented over 300 hours of community service. Collected over 1000 in donations and 15,500 lbs of winter clothing for the homeless of downtown Denver. We had a 17ft U-Haul packed full of winter items.

Boy Scout Leadership - 1.5 yrs as senior patrol leader, highest ranked boy leader in the troop. 6 months as Junior assistant scoutmaster, the only one ever in my troop. Have mentored 3 other eagle scouts through the ranks, helped with their projects, boards of reviet etc.

Worked at grocery store for 2 years - avg 34 hours a week, year round. This is where most of my time goes. I have done everything from cashier to customer service to produce. I have been trained as a head clerk, but cannot become one until I am 18. I have been promised a head clerk position at the age of 18, quite likely the youngest one in the entire King Soopers grocery chain. (Most are like 30 or 40, some have done it their entire lives, do it for a living)

Passion -
I love to trade stocks and invest money. I have saved almost every penny I have earned at King Soopers and invested it. I opened my first custodial account at the age of 14. Just in the past 6 months I have began to active trade, and over summer I was completely addicted. At first it was rough, but by the end there were a few days I made more money than my parents. The only problem with this is finding a way to express this (really aern’t any achievements or awards for doing this) to college admission people.

Family - The problem is my parents are terrible with their personal finances. Our household income is about 150k, but to my knowledge the only money saved for college is what I have saved from my job. Not good for need based aid…

My dad attended Stanford in the seventies on a full ride academic scholarship, and then attended law school there during the eighties. Short legacy.

So lets hear it… What schools do you think I would get into that would get me to my desired career path if any? If there are none, is it too late to fix my transcript and ecs?

My worst case scenario, IMOP would be that I would go to CU Boulder through the business departement. Every year I would apply as a transfer student to all of the top 10 undergrad business programs. If I finish high school with a bang, start college with a bang, chalenge my self, build my network etc. I should get into one of the schools during my 4 years at CU eh? Thats a total of minimum 50 applications.
