I know that my writing score is under the min requirement but my verbal is far above, do I have a shot or even a good shot? If not where would be a good alternative

You have a reasonable shot, I’d say. As a caveat, however, I know a girl who got rejected from McGill with an A average but only a 1360/1600 SAT. Mcgill has gotten much more selective over the years, so you might not get in. If I were you, I’d simply retake the writing section, which you can easily do better on. I’d definitely apply in any event. You’re a great applicant besides your AP Lit score and your writing score.

yeah, to be honestly, you don’t necessaraily seem like a shoe-in, especially since it’s a smaller number of internationals that will get in, but your chances still look good.

i wouldn’t worry all that much about SAt scores though because canadian universities really don’t pay that much attention to them unless perchance they are amazing. also on the bright side, if you are worries about not really having leadership roles for your EC’s, McGill really only cares about marks. In fact, they barely look at your EC’s at all.

marks = grades in classes, anyway I just got into UNC today but am still pretty interested in McGill, montreal sounds sweet (underground stuff, 2nd largest french speaking city in the world, 2nd ranked in percentage of college students, good transportation, european-ey city with American quality education, pretty affordable).

i was also thinking about applying to McGill. Ive checked web sites and they say that the acceptance rate is around 54 percent. This is obviously not for international students though. I was wondering if anyone knew the acceptance rate for an international student(from US?)
