chance me please

your honest opinions would be greatly appreciated. i consider myself capable of succeeding at the schools i’m looking into, but unfortunately many people (especially on cc!) have more impressive stats going for them…i certainly have a few blemishes on my transcript/app.

-sophomore
-live in MA
-prep school (boarding) in MA with ~90 students in each grade
-90 average
-class isn’t ranked
-strong standardized testing abilities…practice tests are telling me that i can reach my goals of 2200+ SAT and 34+ ACT
-ECs are very weak on paper. community service, a couple of choirs, GSA…absolutely nothing that jumps off the page
-however, i have a strong passion for the community service i do. it’s a major part of who i am. community service and working as a camp counselor taught me a lot about myself, and showed me that when i grow up, i will be happiest working as a children’s therapist
-HUGE passion for psychology
^i don’t know how to express this important part of me to adcoms, because it’s a passion i explore through means such as reading–i’m not a leader of some revolutionary organization or anything
-strong writing skills; essay and questions on the application will be answered thoughtfully and uniquely
-strong academically when it comes to stats such as AP scores and sat II scores
CONCERN:
although my current average in school is decent, there are blemishes on my transcript. first semester freshman year, i had a bad transition into boarding school, which showed in my grades (a c+ in honors physics). additionally i got a B first semester in sophomore english…semester grades in that class=subjective x202849. overall my grades average out nicely; i’m just worried about the role that individual freshman/sophomore transcript blemishes will play in admissions decisions.
POSSIBLE OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION:
-ethnicity=bangladeshi. i don’t think this will make a difference because while my parents were raised in bangladesh in a low-income family, they moved here and make a lot. thus i grew up in affluence.
-i can read and write in arabic
-i have strong language skills. fluent english and bengali, and getting close in spanish.
i apologize in advance if my confidence in some areas comes off as arrogant. i’m just presenting myself as honestly as possible.

now that i’ve described myself…chance me. be frank!
