columbia’s a reach for everyone, but they’re very good at attracting minorities (more than any other ivy)
all the best!

chance me back?

i think you have a very good chance as long as your essay is really good and your recs are great as well.

Hey bostonman2009 what exactly is your purpose of posting this chance me?
Are you trying to get realistic response because in all honesty I don’t think you should hold our opinions with much value. Unless an admissions officer responds you’re really left where you started. Given someone who was accepted recently could tell you what they did and what they felt made them a strong applicant your really not going to find much help. Normally I would bypass these threads and not respond but when I saw terroristlatino’s response I had to reply.

“because you’re AA you stand a pretty good chance, i think…”

Granted he did add on that this is what he “thinks”

Also he asked you “chance me back?”

This shows he is still a high school student himself. A chance from another highschool student is not going to help you and trust me a lot of other students or inexperienced people will respond. While their flattery might make you more confident it won’t help you with admissions. Not many people on these boards can tell you more than you already know.

Sorry for the rant… this just really caught my attention.
