<p>I think by providing a laundry list that includes a lot of inconsequential activities, you unintentionally undermine yourself, taking attention away from your more important accomplishments. Rather than listing every single thing you’ve ever done or club you ever joined (bake sales? walkathons?) why not focus the ad com’s attention on those ECs where you’ve demonstrated real leadership, commitment, creativity and/or impact. Ideally, these should bear some relationship to what you want to accomplish educationally and professionally, or highlight some aspect of your identity that differentiates you from all the other high achieving applicants.</p>
