Stanford is most likely out of reach. CMU is a reach and Michigan and Berkley are possibilities. Illinois seems like a match to me. You should probably apply to one safety school, just in case.

Even with your large list of extracurriculars, your academics might not be strong enough for Stanford. However, I agree with kellian in that CMU is a reach while everything else is possible.

And make sure you don’t overload yourself in APs senior year to the point where you can’t handle it. B’s in AP courses do not translate to A’s in honors courses, and they can hurt your unweighted GPA.

You have quite a few B’s but at least it’s in an upward trend, which they like to see. They’ll also like that you’re challenging yourself your senior year instead of taking it easy like a lot of students do. I don’t think Stanford is out of reach for you, but it’ll be a reach (as it is for anyone).

And fyi, if you go to stanford I really don’t think you’ll be able to double major with both environmental and mechanical engineering. Just doing a single engineering major is tough, so doubling up sounds like suicide… XP

Stanford’s a reach, as it is for everyone, but I don’t think it’s out of reach. Your exceptional ECs could very well outweigh your strong-but-not-stellar academics. Being from an underrepresented state like Hawaii could help at top privates.

I also don’t think CMU is a reach - it’s easily a match. Here are the GPA statistics from College Board:

Berkeley is definitely a reach though, since GPA is most important. I assume you’re in Hawaii, so if you can pay in full, it might be a little easier (still a reach though if you’re applying to the College of Engineering) - next year 1/3 of the entering class will supposedly be from OOS, who have found it easier to get into Berkeley because of the budget cuts.

thanks so much appreciate your feedback

I honestly would love to gain feedback from almost anyone who read my post because I am very curious. Also, would it help if I said I did Fall Play and Spring Musical for my 11th and 12 grade years
