Completed all prerequisites for MCB and Neuroscience major however have not taken physics.
(Physics is highly recommended but not required, may take one semester in spring)
At the end of this year will have 70 units.

Extra Curricular
Hospital volunteer once a week (4hrs)
Part time job (Not science related)
Work for social science teacher (Few hours a week)
PTK Member
Applied for internships in Biomedical research this summer
Part of a few clubs (not president)

Questions:
Extra Curriculars: It seems like a lot of students have a “brag” sheet with tons of awards, internships, club creators, student body president, and other overachieving awards etc. Will a lack of a vast amount of out of school activities lower chances? Can you think of any extracurricular activities that would benefit a science major?

How detrimental will not taking physics be on my chances?

Apply to: UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, Johns Hopkins, Claremont Mckenna and possibly a few other privates.
WELCOME ALL ADVICE AND KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE TRANSFER PROCESS!!

You have plenty of extra-currics for a transfer. No need to add anything else. Your GPA is high enough to likely get you in everywhere. Missing physics is the only real blemish on your application, but if you write on your January app update that you’re planning to (and actually are going to) take it in the spring, then I’d say you’re a shoe-in everywhere…or at the very least at the UC’s.

As for if you opt not to take physics now or in the spring…well, considering it’s highly recommended, I’d say you would be pushing your luck just a tad. You’d still probably have a decent shot at all the UC’s, but not quite as good as you would have had otherwise.
