Chances for:

Stanford
UCLA
UC Berkeley
UC Santa Barbara
UW Seattle

for stanford, UCLA, and UCB: you’ve got good GPA. bad test scores. standard and boring ECs. exactly how prestigious are these “prestigious art contests”?

i’m not sure if middle eastern folks get AA. but assuming that they don’t, you are a reject for stanford, good shot at UCLA and UCB, and in at the other two

I was second place in a state-wide art competition, and I received first place in a national competition.

I’m pretty sure I qualify for AA.

Thanks for your honesty :)

shameless bump :3

I think you have a good chance at the UCs and UW Seattle. Stanford may be a reach though. Try to improve on your test scores (try the ACT if the SAT isn’t your thing). Also, consider some biology awards. Don’t forget good essays and recs. Good luck!

Your scores are fine for the UCs. They don’t, however, consider race but middle eastern would not be an URM.

Awesome  I’m more interested in the UC schools than Stanford anyway.

Stanford - Reach
UCLA - Match
UC Berkeley - Match
UC Santa Barbara - Safety
UW Seattle - Safety

Since you’re a Cali resident you’re easily in at UCLA and Cal imo. Reach at Stanford but attainable with a good essay/recs.
