Accomplishments/hooks (I am cryptic to keep my privacy but all can are real and I have proof for when I apply to college).

Founded and editor-in-chief- Independent News Source: This is an online news outlet, multiple writers some international, interviewed head of an independent South American political party.

Founded -Non-Profit Organization: This has been very successful, basically, we run small, free interactive courses for kids, ones who are usually underprivileged. We are reaching out to more and more cities and schools all the time, We have a summer camp and after-school program for 7 elementary school campuses me and board members spoke on a panel and we got invited to another across the country. While we are not a 501c3, we are accredited by the state.

Founded and co-host-Political Podcast: This is on sound cloud hopefully soon other platforms, I talk about politics with varying people.

Founded and President- Political PAC: I founded this as an outlet for people I know who like politics to be politically active, we have members across the country and connect through social media. We are involved with a local political party, we meet with candidates and do other things that PACs do.

Book: Soon I will be publishing my own book on political activism through Amazon, print and e-book form.

Note: Grades are my lowest point but I have tried to make it up with extracurriculars, being a leader in my community and creating these big projects. Also, I know some of them don’t sound real but I promise they are, they all have websites and if there is registering involved they are properly registered. Feel free to mention other colleges I should research or if I am flat out being unrealistic with all the ones listed. Also, I know it’s hard to know exactly where I fall because I don’t have an SAT score up here and it’s hard to rate my accomplishments because they aren’t numbers.

Colleges:
Any Ivy, Stanford, UT, Northwestern, Tulane, Duke, Georgetown, UC Berkley, UC Santa Barbra, USC, Notre Dame, Rice, NYU, Vanderbilt.

If you’re not in-state, UT and the UCs will be unaffordable. NYU is extremely likely to be unaffordable.

What characteristics are you looking for in a college?

I’m very impressed with your accomplishments particularly with your different home life! Please know that this will mean you are successful in life no matter where you go to college! I’d assume you can get financial aid. Best of luck!

@allyphoe I am looking for a college vibe/student body that is full of motivated and passionate individuals. And a school where I can be involved in organizations, one with a good pre-law or political science program and one where individuality contributes to a better community. Kind of some specific requests, I know. When I did the Harvard pre-college program, I found people that I just clicked with, they loved to create something, they carried about doing something for the world and were very passionate people. I am not sure if competitive college student bodies are actually like that or not. But I clicked with everyone in that program and after I experienced that I know I want that at whatever school I go to.

@WantBigAndWarm Thank you so much! That means a lot I felt weird about being so open and vulnerable about it.

I think for most of the schools on your list, you have a fair shot at admissions. Your ECs are competitive and show interest and drive, but your grades are a little bit on the low side. I would say it’ll come down to your essays and the applicant pool.

You have a good shot so long as you mark yourself as Native American rather than White.

Your EC’s show a distinct pattern of related interests and significant achievement, both of which will make a favorable impression. Your EC’s however may not be able to compensate for low ACT/SAT test scores, so you may wish to prepare extra for those tests. If you don’t score well on those tests, you might consider applying to test optional schools, which include superb schools such as Pitzer, Bates, Colby, Wesleyan. See this list: http://fairtest.org/university/optional Your interest in empowerment and activism might find an appreciative audience at Scripps or Pitzer. Your writing in your original post contained several grammatical errors. I hope these don’t reflect the quality of your essay writing.

@catlover00 You can mark yourself multiracial- both white and Native American. The next question will ask if you are registered and if you mark yes it will ask you for your roll number so you need to get that.
