Chance me: Strong EC's, 2.8 GPA, Business major applying to Ivys

Let’s not get bogged down in this. The company exists. Whether the valuation is correct, as in could they sell it today at that price, would require a business valuation specialist, and is beyond the scope of the thread.

Is UT Austin a safety for a resident in the bottom 50% of their class?

Not even a slim chance for UTAustin.

Ignoring all the fluff, this is the issue. You basically want/need a full ride which is going to be very hard to come by with a 2.8 GPA.

Do they need a full ride? Or are they saying they have the ability to be full pay? I interpreted as the latter, but I may have misunderstood.

I took that comment to mean the opposite: that no aid was required.

Ah, “I’m paying” and “small college fund” sounded like the student themselves will be fronting most of the bill and not sure how “small” a small college fund is. OP can clarify.

I suppose building a multimillion dollar company, interning at the UN and World Economic Forum, founding a refugee nonprofit and being a good enough artist to sell 10+ pieces at auction might leave inadequate time to actually “do school.” I think many colleges may have difficulty with this aif they are considering who will be able to make it through their academic program.

For the OP, if you are clarifying that price is
not a factor and you will be self pay, then for this unique it’s situation you should use some of those resources to hire a really good college counselor who can help make an appropriate college list.
