<p>hi everyone i’m karim…applied to USC don’t have very great statistics but i feel like i have a reason for that which was explained in my essay</p>
<p>im a gay lebanese-muslim and i came out during sophomore year and was kicked out…yah thats what my essay’s about. i talked about how coming out helped me overcome a struggle to shape who i am today and how i can use that as a business leader. my essay is pretty good…it definitely stands out. how much consideration do they put into the essay because i feel like if i do get in, it’ll be because of my essay since everything else i have is pretty average. </p>
<p>Middle class family. im currently attending a very competitve high school (Diamond Bar High School) so my class rank is pretty average.

Volunteer with no on prop 8 campaign 75-100 hours
I’ve been working since i was 16…ive had two jobs. one as a personal assistant to the ceo of an arab advertising company
and the other as a secretary for an arab media network
I’ve participated in the rainbow floor overnight experience at USC…to show that i was particulary interested in usc and not just applying there for the hell of it. The Director of the LGBT center has labeled me as a “student of interest” to the admissions office. i dont think that gives me any advantages but figured it couldnt hurt.</p>
