So my top two schools of choice are UC Boulder and UW Madison. I’m pretty confident that I can get into boulder but my chances at UW terrifies me. I’m a junior OOS btw.

GPA: 3.8 uw 4.1 weighted
SAT: 1740, 1800 superscored (I’ve taken it twice, it’s crappy I know)
ACT: take it in April. Between 26-30
EC: two jobs, over 500 hours working at crisis hotline for 4 years, hospice, varsity tennis two years, started pet sitting business, other random stuff
Ap/honors by graduation: 2 AP, 4 honors, 3 dual enrollment

Public schools are generally less holistic and more often numbers driven. I suspect you will need to raise your SAT significantly and/or score in the 30-31 range on your ACT to be even considered a reasonable hopeful at U of Wisconsin (Madison).

Just to add to hinsdale1, I would focus on the ACT if you want to retake a test. The ACT is used fairly heavily in the Midwest, and many consider it an easier test to improve one’s score. You have a strong GPA (do you know class rank?) along with tough classes. Retaking the ACT (Aim for 30+) would increase you chances drastically.

I would retake the SAT to raise your score or take the ACT and score well. Boulder will be easy, but UW may be a little harder with your present stats. Good luck :)
