I probably have a higher chance at UC due to my bad freshman grades which are not calculated in UC GPA, but I want UW a lot more.

I want to major in biology.

UCSD is a Reach at this point. Wait until end of Junior year before asking for chances since you do not have any actual test scores or your Junior year grades. Your Math grades will be an issue at these schools even as a Bio major.

I can retake the math classes, but they won’t be advanced ones, they’ll be he normal ones. At my school honors is like AP in comparison to regular classes.

The freshman grades for UC’s are not a wash. They do include them in your overall GPA.
Your sophomore and junior grades are used for admission purposes. Also, the UC’s require a yearlong graded course in Fine Arts. Where is that on your transcript? Three years of piano is fine, if one year of it was taken in a graded course that shows up on your transcript.

In an earlier post, you indicated that listed schools were too expensive. If you were to even get considered for the UC’s, how would you pay your OOS rates of $60K per year? There is no financial aid for non-residents.

Also, bio is impacted at UCSD. As a non-resident, you don’t get priority.

Why does the UC calculator not use my freshman grades, do you mean they look at the classes I took freshman year and if I passed, or is it actually calculated into the UC GPA itself. I took art.

The UCs DO look at courses you’ve taken in freshman and senior years for rigor and grades, but 9th and 12th year grades are NOT included in the GPA calculation.

Also, was your Art class for 1 year?

Yes, a full year of art.
