Essay was very good (reviewed by many people), on losing a house to a hurricane, and how to overcome such a tragedy.

Anything else? Thanks so much, honest opinions please (=

you have a shot, especially with your 33, nice. good luck
but idk if you will be ready for the cold, doesnt it never go below 60 if FL?

I think you have a shot as well… theyll like your challenging yourself with classes your school doesnt offer.

but im with you… its pretty warm here in baton rouge… and pretty cold in hanover!!

chance me too please!! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/dartmouth-college/826950-chance-rd-please.html

Haha it does get below 60! Its like 40 right now, and im in layers upon layers, IMO its FREEZING, so yes, i am VERY worried about the cold.

Haha. About the cold. Try coming to Minnesota. It gets down to 40 below at times…

You can actually throw hot water into the air and watch it “disappear” before it hits the ground.

I’m not sure about chancing…as I’m not exactly qualified. But good luck!

Haha, i am quite excited for the cold, actually. Just nervous i’ll turn into an icepop and die.

At the end of a Hanover winter, 40 degrees = t-shirt and shorts weather.

You will surely survive…Your stats are good especially the ACT score 33  .

Weather is never a reason to not choose a school. Hanover is gorgeous in the fall and spring, and even though the winter is cold, it’s a winter wonderland so it’s an amazing experience for people who have never seen snow. And if you still don’t like it, you can use the D-Plan to switch it up and travel during the winters!

Independent studies and distance learning are a plus: clearly you have consistently gone beyond what your school offers. ACT is okay, half of AP scores are iffy, what are your SATIIs? Any idea of class rank? Everything else seems okay. I’d say you have a shot, if the missing pieces are in range and if everything is put together in a compelling way that presents you well.

Any SAT II scores? I think your ECs have a lot of depth and a 33 ACT falls in the middle 50. Your AP scores are a bit low, but I think you’ll be competitive.

did you take SAT IIs? 'cause they are required…
otherwise i think you TOTALLY have a good chance.
hope its good news for you in the spring :)

it also makes me happy to see someone else on FLVS.
i have taken P.E., LMS, chemistry, and currently AP Stats on there.
though i would die with FLVS Calc BC - i’m in guided independent study for that and it still kills…
but good luck!!

Yellowbird, you have a really good chance. along with augustagurll, I think SAT IIs are a good idea. The cold will be your only problem with Dartmouth!!
