Chance Me??

Hi!!
I go to an all girls school in San Francisco, California. (It’s considered one of the best in the country) and I have heard that being from CA helps. I had mostly A’s and the occasional B+ in 7th grade, but on my most recent report cards, the ones that will go to the schools, I had straight A’s.

My extra-curriculars:
I am the co-editor in chief of the yearbook, and was the Assistant editor in chief in seventh grade. I have played soccer since kindergarten, and have played volleyball for 2 years. I have done plays and musicals at the school, and expressed interest in drama. I am in the math club. I also do debate, at a boys school and am the only girl on the team. (I talked about that in my interviews, and they found that very interesting.)

I got a 94 on my ssats. my school offers honors courses for language and math, but I am not in either. (Will that be a problem?) My mom either mentioned in the parent statements, or I mentioned that I tried I asked to switch to honors math. (I did because I found the regular too easy. I was denied entrance-they didn’t even let me take a placement test or anything-so I got a math tutor I work with out of school. We work ahead, and I teach myself through textbooks and math DVD’s. Also, my Math ssat score was 83, which was way higher than some of the honor’s kids.)
I won a recent international essay contest and donated my winnings to two charities. I absolutely love writing!
I interviewed EXTREMELY well, and my teacher recs will be good. (At my school they dont really let them be bad, haha.) I put A LOT of time and thought into all my essays, and I think they’re pretty good. They’re definitely unique.
Here is where I have applied:
Hotchkiss, where my two cousins currently go. I first visited a while back and didn’t like it a ton. I thought the kids seemed kind of stuck up. This time when I went back, everyone seemed friendlier. I got to go to the school meeting, and I walked around by myself w/o a tour guide to get a feel for the school. I really like their humanities program, I know the academics are amazing, and the campus is GORGEOUS.
Choate, where i did a summer program. I loved the summer program, which was writing. I like that Choate has a lot of international kids, and I see the benefit of a large school. People tell me I seem like a “choate kid.”
Deerfield, a lot of ppl from my school are applying here. Seemed SUPER preppy. Don’t know how well I’d fit in there, haha.
Blair Academy, which I really liked. Seemed warm, and I think I could do well there.
Groton, I LOVED. Liked the small size, traditions, theatre program. Everyone was so nice. A board member who I have known since I was two, and is the mother of my best friend is writing me a letter. She went there too.
Middlesex, I applied to as well.
Taft, I adored. Great campus, kids seemed happy. Got a feel that it was balanced too, not super athletic or any one thing.
My family is also really wealthy, so I won’t need to apply for financial aid, plus I heard that being wealthy helps because they know your parents will give money.
My top four are Groton, Taft, Choate, and Hotchkiss. (That’s kind of in order, but they’re all pretty much equal. Plus, my mind kind of changes daily.) I told my High School Counseulor that Groton was my first choice because it is one of my top, and I think it will be the hardest to get into, so I could use the push. There are two other girls from my grade applying to Groton, one other to Choate, one other to Taft, and I’m the only one for Hotchkiss.
One more thing: My Dad is Cuban, and my Mother is Irish. I go to Ireland every summer. I don’t know if this matters, but I mentioned that in some of my essays. I guess any diversity helps, right?
Thank you all for your time!!! Sorry this was so long! :)

I think you have a very good chance at these schools(well, better than mine…). Your SSAT scores seem pretty good, you have great EC’s, and diversity(in least in your case) does count. I wonder why no one has replied to post if you have such a great chance at these schools. I am applying to Choate also, and I think you do seem like a “Choate Kid”. Not to be intrusive but are you a full paying applicant? (because if you are then I think you have an even better chance at Choate).
Good luck,
