SATs: 1850
ACT: 29

For the most part, everything looks well within what’s expected of BU applicants. It wouldn’t hurt to try to add some points to your SAT/ACT though. :)

Which college are you interested in?

You really need to up your SAT score. That’s the one glaring issue I see. Another 100 points or so would do it.

Of course it would never hurt to get your SATs up, but I wouldn’t say it’s a glaring issue. I got into COM this year with an 1820.

Yeah, people sometimes need to cool it with the infamous “another 100 points on the SAT would help” line. Obviously. No matter how high your SAT score is, unless it is a 2400, an increase never hurts.

People on college confidential think that you need have an SAT score above the 75th percentile score to have a good shot at getting in.

The BU average SAT score (25th - 75th percentile) is a 1770 - 2040, meaning the dead middle average is about a 1900. You are at an 1850, which is close enough to the average that I am not going to say it is a glaring issue.

Of course increasing it would help your chances, but it is not a necessity for you to have a good chance.

Otherwise, your unweighted GPA is outstanding - head and shoulders above the BU average, which is a 3.54, which is approximately a 92 on a scale out of 100.

Your ECs look good, course load looks good, and the ACT is perfect for BU.

I say you have a good shot

Don’t lull yourself into a false sense of security with these people that say a 1850 SAT is good enough. I would not risk it, if you are serious about getting into BU. I know first hand about friends that did & did not get in. Keep working hard. Your credentials look really good, just never stop trying to improve yourself and you will be fine.
