I am going to be a senior now, but this is how I stand currently. I am trying to push for a higher gpa, more ec, etc. I am also planning to take 7 aps, 5 from school, and 2 independently.

Academics:
GPA: 3.8

Notable Classes (thus far): AP US History, AP Physics, AP Statistics, AP European History, AP English Lang.

AP Scores: 4-AP US, 2- AP PHYS, 2- AP STATS, 3- AP EURO, 4- AP ENG.

OH, and in regards to SAT II’s, I am planning to take 3(prob. us, eng ,and math II) in either October or November. It looks like I will be getting 650+ for all of them, from the practice tests I have taken

AP Literature
AP Gov
AP Environmental
AP BC Calc
AP Span. Lang

Independent APs:
Comp Sci.
Psychology

E.C’s + Accomplishments:
-2 Years Varsity Tennis
-Active member of the television production club
-Was the center of a one time show on MTV
-Part of a youth organization that helps out various charities, etc.
-Been in drama since 9th grade

Standardized Tests:
SAT: 2170

I am interested in doing polysci. in undergrad.

Duke would probably be your best bet. My friend, who got accepted into UC Berkeley and Duke, ended up choosing Cal 'cause of financial reasons, but her GPA was < 4.0 and she had as many APs/extracurrics as you, if not less. You outmatch her in about 70-80% of the college aspects, except maybe the GPA. SATs are great, she was <2000, but try to get a more solid score. I got a 2040 myself and am retaking 'em in October. ECs are solid, but they have great potential - my last tip would be to make sure you make full use of 'em in your apps…

*APs are less solid, though. Those scores are iffy at best, I’m sorry to say. Self-study one or two more, and I think that’s enough bragging rights to go on with. I’m self-studying three this year: Psychology, Comparative Government/Politics, and Human Geography. I suggest taking Human Geography and Art History - they’re easy courses, and require no more than a Barron’s SG to read through and get a 5.
