Hey, I’m from Connecticut. I know UCLA’s acceptance rate is only 20%, and you’d probably say that with these stats its a very low chance for me. But take account of the fact that this is 20% of the over 60,000 freshmen applicants, which is 12,000 who are accepted. Lets say that I be in the bottom 8.3% of those accepted, but that’s over a thousand people being even lower than me!
These are my stats:

UW GPA: 3.6
SAT I - 1950

SAT II Math- 800
Class rank - 5%

My question is if these stats, specifically the first two, can be overlooked because of other special things such as extracurriculars, my mathematical talent, and a good essay.
If it helps, I’m:
- President/founder of my school’s Chess club
- NHS member
- attended Boston Leadership forum
- AMC 10 school winner
- received over 4 educational awards from my school in the annual award ceremony
- just went to a Math summer program in a prominent university
- will do Model UN next winter in Harvard

Thank you for your time.
