I just want some opinions on my chances of a UC since I’m not academically strong. I just read all these other threads of students with such high grades and ecs. I was blown away. Those people are awesome. Smart and ambitious.

I live in California by the way.

I have a 3.5 GPA. I’m a real scatter brain. I wish I tried harder though. -.- I take AP Bio now and goodness is it difficult. My teacher is pregnant so she’s been trying to get all the lessons done before she leaves. She’s an adorable pregnant woman though ^^

I’ve attended a private high school, college prep for four years. There are 1300 students and it’s actually impossible to be ranked top in the school due to the amount of scholars we have. The top 10% have been occupied by the same people for 4 years.

I took one college class. Received an A.

I got a 1650 on the SAT. Retaken it though.

I got a 25 on the ACT. Retaken it.

I volunteer for a youth group meaning I go to the retreats to do talks and etc. The youth has been around for 26 years. I have about 270 hours in that.

I volunteered as a volleyball assistant for both elementary girls and middle school girls. I have been playing volleyball since the 3rd grade, playing competitively for five years. Went to the Junior Olympics. I played in high school but I’m pretty sure I got cut based on my height. The girl was taller than me and I’ve always been warned that my height would affect my chances of playing continuously.

I’ve been on the golf team for three years. Some of the girl golfers are incredible!
I think a few girls went to the national tournament. Incredible.

I’m in both the yearbook and poly dance club.

My dad really wants me to get into a UC but I highly doubt I can. I find all this scrambling for college funny though.
On these threads, people are worried about getting into a UC or etc when I am sure they could get in. I know a lot of people who got in for lesser grades. My friend Casey got into UCSD with perhaps a 4.0, little sport activity, and a low SAT. She got a 1500. But she was the president of her school so I guess that works. My other friend had a 3.3, sports ECs, and got admitted to UCSB. Which made me more hopeful. Eh. I know I’ll go to college, perhaps a CSU. Or out of state.
