I’m only a sophomore, but I want to know what I need to fix and how I can improve me application:
My UW GPA is a 4.0, my W GPA is about a 4.7.
I have been on varsity swim since freshman year, along with one year of field hockey (which I will not be doing again).
I have been in student senate (kind of like student gov) since freshman year, and volunteer one a week at a local hospice house. Furthermore, I am getting a job this summer at a local store.
My SAT scores will most likely be in the 2100-2200 range, and I have taken rigorous courses so far (one AP course in freshman year, 2 in sophomore year, and I plan on taking three junior year and 4 senior year) Last year I got a 4 on the AP World History test, and I will most likely be getting either a 4 or 5 on the AP Micro and AP gov tests. I have been taking online courses high school classes in supplement to my course load, so that I can take more difficult classes in school. I plan on taking community college classes this summer, and maybe even during the school year for dual credit.
I am an Asian female. I don;t think I’m a 1st gen college student (I think…my mom dropped out of college and my dad got an associates degree).
These are the colleges that I am interested in:
McGill University: Dept of Science
U of Toronto
U of Mass- Amherst
Penn State: University Park
U of IL: Urbana-Champaign
University of Pittsburgh
IL State University
