Chance Me

My GPA as of now is a 3.61 and I would like to get it up to a 3.7 by the end of my junior year, which is this year. My SAT scores still need improvement, which is understandable. I am taking the SATS in June and in October.

My top three schools are:

  1. The University of Georgia
    2)The University of Alabama
  2. Rowan University

If I can get my GPA up to a 3.7 and my SAT scores to a 1750, what are my chances of being accepted to these schools along with my extracurricular activies, community service, teacher recommendations, and college essays.

Georgia - 45% chance
Alabama - 90% chance, and I think you will be accepted
Rowan University - 98% chance, and I think you will be accepted

Depends on your major. And how your SAT scores break down (critical reading & math are the most important). And success in AP classes, if any. And other applicants in your pool.

The criteria for an Engineering student is vastly different than, say, a General Studies or Criminal Justice or Theater student.

Why Georgia and Alabama and Rowan? Do you want to live in those areas after college graduation? Can you afford OOS tuition? How does the financing of your education affect (or “limit”) your options post-graduation?

I visited UGA and loved it, I would also like to major in Broadcast Journalism, for UGA is in the top 50 for Journalism schools. University of Alabama is also included in that top 50. Rowan is my back up as an in-state school… I also think it would be a great thing to go to UGA because after college, I could try and find a job in Atlanta within my major, which I know UGA assists in after graduation… My parents also aren’t focusing on tuition as of now, but I’m sure we will be applying for financial aid. Haven’t exactly thought about finance post graduation because I have a lot of time.

My friend Victor is a junior and his GPA is 3.6 and his goal is to bring it up to a 3.8 by the end of the year.
