What are these two “state schools that you won’t mention?”

Berkeley: Match/High match

Everyone else that you did mention is a reach (ED at one of Duke or UPenn if you want to take advantage of legacy)

You seem like a good applicant to me, and legacy will help you at Duke and Penn. But keep in mind there are many kids like you! I wish you luck though!

I know this isn’t your finalized list, but ultimately you should pick a few reach schools that are your favorites and fill in the rest with matches (aside from your two state schools, which I’m assuming are safeties).

Will you have AP classes available to you as a junior or senior? If not, that’s unfortunate. Elite colleges do like to see that you took a tough course load. Your unweighted GPA is perfect, and your SAT is very solid. I would imagine that if you took that SAT again as a senior that you might do even better – lots of learning for you between now and then still, and that WILL help. Get that SAT up to 2300 with a 4.0 unweighted, and you are a strong candidate. Those are all tough schools though, and you aren’t guaranteed admission to any of them. You are on the right path though…keep the focus and you have a shot. Good luck!

A fair chance at Penn and berkeley!
