Hi this is my first time doing this! I’m planning on transferring for Fall 2016 and I plan to apply to mostly UCs. That being said, I still haven’t finalized the list of schools I’m applying to since I don’t really have a dream school. So far I’m mainly looking at UCLA(its a reach), UCSB, and UCSD. If you could give me some input on my chances getting in there and maybe some other schools I should apply to that’d be great! I plan on becoming a high school teacher and hope to get into Teach for America if that means anything. So yeah… here are my stats:

GPA: 3.45
Major GPA: 3.8
Major: History
IGETC: Will be completed this Fall.
EC’s: If I’m not including high school then: a part time job(30 hours/week) and now a writing tutor at my school, as well as volunteering at a local elementary school. If we’re including high school, then Color Guard and Marching Band, volunteering about 5 hours a week, and Technical Theatre.

I’m applying for TAG for UCSB, if I haven’t finished all my pre-reqs by this Fall but will finish them before I transfer thats okay right?

UCLA is not a reach. Admitted average GPA for history in 2014 was 3.62.

But wait:

What is your uc-transferable GPA? Only UCLA will gauge both major GPA and UC-transferable GPA. The others will look only at UC-transferable. The UCLA average admit GPA for history (3.62) is the UC-transferable GPA.
