Chance me?

Hi everyone, I’ve posted my stats and EC’s below…can you please chance me for the following schools? UCB, Penn State, William and Mary, UNC Chapel Hill, UVA, USC.

SAT (highest score in one sitting): 2120
APs: will be taking AP Bio, AP Lit and Comp, and AP Stats this May
AP courses at school: our school only offers AP Calculus and AP British Lit during our senior year so I’m taking AP Calc AB and AP British Lit

I also apparently had a B- instead of a C+ in my junior year and our online grading system messed up the numbers and my original transcript had a C+ on it for chemistry honors instead of the B-…would this make a difference if the schools were informed when the midyear reports were sent out? Now I only have one C+ and that’s from our engineering course we took our freshman year of high school.

EC’s/Awards/Internships:

  1. President of GirlUp Club (a chapter of the UN Foundation organization) - 3 years
  2. Editor of the yearbook for 1 year, staff member/photographer for 3 years
  3. Model United Nations - 2 years
  4. Blogger for The Huffington Post - since August 2015
  5. Volunteer and 2015 Group Leader for Greenpeace
  6. Debate Club - 2 years
  7. Over 200 total hours of volunteering with Greenpeace, a nonprofit organization, American Cancer Society, a care center, and two hospitals
  8. School record for horsepower during freshman year
  9. Waksman Student Scholars Award (2014)
  10. Student of the Month for June 2016 (recognized by the town's Rotary Club)
  11. Paid internship at an attorney's office during the summer of 2014

Bump…anyone?

What state are you from?

NJ!

OOS, not sure if I want to be too specific on here haha – does it just matter if you’re OOS or does the specific state matter?

It just matters if you’re out of state for some of these schools, but you look like a good match for Penn State and William and Mary. USC could go either way since you’re right at their average, but I think you have a pretty good shot. UNC, UVa and Cal are extremely hard OOS. It sounds like you’re a senior, so don’t worry too much. I think you’ll get into Penn State pretty easily, and you’ll get into William and Mary too
I’m not 100% sure of whether that grade will matter on your mid-year report, unless you resubmit all your grades from HS.

Thanks! my guidance counselor had to resend our midyear reports and some colleges asked me to resend my transcript to them through guidance as well. Is UNC that difficult for OOS (with my grades too, since my SAT seems to be a bit on the lower side)?

So I checked my ConnectCarolina portal and it says that my math score is in the 89th percentile, my writing is in the 98th percentile, and my CR is in the 96th percentile. Does that help me in terms of admissions?

So, why you gotta be lying about ur stats m8; AP: British Lit ain’t a class.

Haha it’s a registered class - same thing as AP Lit + Comp but we study British lit along with composition

@PsychicPanda2 That’s what it’s called at my school. You take the AP English Literature test, but the readings are focused on British pieces, especially poetry.
@polarbear143 UNC is pretty hard, mainly because they have to let in a certain amount of in-state students. UNC cares a lot about your essays. It’s hard to tell though, because last year, 33 ACTs got denied OOS, but a 2090 SATs (which is equivalent to a 30/31) got accepted. You never know. If you feel like you showed them who you really are in your essays, you have a pretty good shot. You have solid ECs too, which gives you an upper-hand. Best of luck! Make sure to post here when you find out because I’m interested in where you got in (I’m looking at almost all the same schools with very similar scores!)

@allison1225 thanks so much! I hope my essays showed off who I am as a person - I’ll definitely let you know which ones I got into!

Oh that’s pretty cool then; I’d say you have good chances.

Anyone know how my stats looks for finance at Stevens Institute of Technology?
