For the California UC’s, please calculate your UC GPA. Since you are OOS, only AP/IB or DE courses 10-11th count for the extra honors points in the calculation. Intended major?

Also be aware, that the UC’s no longer give FA to OOS applicants, so expect to pay around $55K/year to attend.

Whoops! Thank you for reminding me! I have calculated my UC GPA to be 4.14. In terms of intended majors, I am torn between Civil Engineering and Accounting. And yes, I am aware that the UC’s no longer supply financial aid to out-of-state applicants.

No UC’s have an accounting major, most have Business or Managerial Econ. UCSB has a Eco/Accounting major while UCLA has a minor in accounting. As for Civil Engineering, UCM/UCR/UCSB and UCSD do not offer this major. UCSD has a Structural Engineering major similar to Civil.

Based on UC GPA and SAT scores only: Your Match schools for Civil Engineering would be UCSC and possibly UCI. The rest of the UC’s would be slight Reach to Reach.

For Econ/Accounting: Your Match schools for UCM/UCR/UCSC. UCI/UCD would be slight Reach schools. UCSB/UCSD/UCLA and UCB would be Reach schools.
