I am a first-generation college student and come from a middle class family.

I had mostly A’s with the occasional B. But, I did have one C my first semester of senior year in AP Lit :frowning:

I had a very good near-death experience to write about for my Common App Essay, which I feel came out fantastic.

Extracurriculars: 4 year Varsity Baseball (twice Captain and thrice MVP) and ASB Vice President along with MANY others that may require lengthy descriptions.

Recommendations: The two that I read were EXCELLENT.

In all honesty, I know some of the schools I am applying to are absolute stretches, but that is fine with me. I do appreciate any and all feedback, no matter how brutally honest !!

Why are you naming differing majors for each school? Do you want to determine your career by acceptance?

My prospective career involves various disciplines that include economics, statistics, or business. I am interested in all of them so I am leaving my options open by doing this.

So where does journalism fit into that?

Specifically, I am looking at getting into baseball and a lot of sports journalists who incorporate statistics in their writing get to the point I hope to be at eventually. Can you trust me that I know what I’m doing…I just wanted feedback on my list, not to get picked apart for my choices of major. Thank you!

With an unweighted GPA of 3.6, all of these schools are going to be a big reach. Syracuse is the exception. Your stats put you in the 78% range.

I strongly believe you will make it into UCSB statistics major.

“I had a very good near-death experience to write about for my Common App Essay”

Mostly high reaches but for syracuse and Tulane maybe?
