Applied to:
UCLA (Political Science)
UCI (Political Science)
CSUF (Nursing)
CSUSB (Nursing)

UCLA is a Reach but you are a competitive applicant.
UCI is a Match school.
CSUF is tough but again you are a competitive applicant.

CSUSB is a safety.

If you want Nursing, why not apply directly to UCI and UCLA for their program unless you are not sure between the two majors???

Are you planning to change majors to Nursing at UCLA or UCI if accepted as a PS major? Not an easy route if that is your plan.

To clarify, I chose Nursing for the CalStates and Political Science for the UC’s for 2 reasons: price and uncertainty.

A 4-year BSN program at a UC versus a Cal State would be significantly more expensive for me, it is not worth going to a UC for a Nursing degree.
I’d arguably say that the skillset the UC curriculum promotes would be more helpful in Political Science.

I have an interest in both majors (but a relatively minor interest in Nursing), but I’d determine what major to settle for based on any financial aid I am awarded and where I get accepted.

Thank you for the explanation. You have very diverse interests which reflects the options you have chosen.

Best of luck.
