CC can be brutally honest but it’s not usually snarky and cruel, especially while not even being informed. Swim team at many schools is hardly a walk up sport and even if it was it still requires extensive time, training, and teamwork. Debate can range anywhere from a serious competitive academic endeavor to a screw around at lunch and “debate” random topics. You have no idea which applies here. While it’s true the OP didn’t tell his story and reveal his substance here there’s no reason to assume he doesn’t have any!
