Underrepresented minority makes it easy for you.

MIT: Reach
Stanford: Reach
Cornell: Match
UCB: Match
Other UCs are match to safety

You’re not getting into MIT unless you really boost that ACT score, I’m sure of that much.

Nothing makes it easy, but as a young, black male from an urban area many schools will be very interested in what you can bring to campus.

While UCs do look at the whole person, they are not able to consider race. Private colleges can. I suggest, especial;ly if you are low income and qualify for need based aid, you focus on elite private colleges with generous aid. Another point or two on the ACT will make you most sought after.

I agree with the two above and just do well on the sat ii’s

retake ACT and shoot for 33+…

If ACT gets to 33 and SAT IIs are 750+ I’d say you’re in as a URM at all except MIT. MIT puts little weight on URMS (from what I understand). The UCs are HUGE on black/latino recruiting though.

p.s. you’re already into the UCs

In to the UCs.

Everywhere else is still a reach simply because of your ACT score.

As the other posters said, you’ll get into the UCs. It’ll be harder for me to get into the private colleges because I’m Filipino. Being an underrepresented minority should help you get into some of the private colleges you listed.
