Youve got a pretty good shot. Slightly low SATs and i dont know how strong your school is.

An average shot. Average to above average EC’s, weaker test scores.

47 students in a class… are you in a private school, or in the middle of nowhere?

You took a Maryland Math League Award and you live in Delaware?

yeah i attend a very competitve private school in maryland, , that’s why the maryland math league competiton is in maryland–but i do live in delaware

youre #1 in a “very competitive private school.” How competitive is it really, if the valedictorian gets a 2170 with a 700 average on sat IIs?? There are kids at my school (a public school) who are in the third decile and are getting those scores.

Shackleton55 - the fact that the OP’s scores are a 2170 and he is the valedictorian does not mean that his school is not competitive. First of all a 2170 is a very respectable score. Second, at my school the valedictorean has a lower score than 2170, yet there are people under her that have perfect scores. Shes really smart - just not great at standardized tests. I don’t think the valedictorian’s SAT score says much about how competitive a school is.

It’s actually a very competitive private…I just happen to be very dedicated and extremely hardworking…the number two has a 2250, the number three has a 2290, the number four has already been accepted at harvard.

last year, the number six ranked student in our school was accepted at dartmouth, so if that tells you anything

Here are the SAT’s for the top eight in my public high school, 320 students total:

2370 superscored.

2380.

2380.

2400.

Declines to mention. I’m guessing ~2000.

2400.

2280.

2290.

well then I would be a little worried if I were you because in Michele Hernandez’s “A is for Admission” she specificalyl states that Dartmouth admissions officers look out for kids who are simply diligent and hardworking and deny them admission. They want naturally intelligent individuals who will take class discussion to the next level and make a difference.

^ And that be you shack???

Just because I work hard doesn’t necessarily mean I can’t contribute to class discussions. At least I’m not an uppety individual who hastily jumps to conclusions—I bet they’re not looking for someone like that either

hahah ok you two just wait and see if i get in or not. Gentleman’s bet?

i was completely kidding when I said that hahaha…you’re probably right…my high school isn’t as competitive as yours and my sat 1 snd sat 2 scores are below par but whatev–i’m giving it a shot…good luck to everyone

good luck to you too, you have a good shot

First, Those SAT scores are not weak. I have no idea about how competitive your school is, but your SAT scores are fine. You might want to take a look at the last years accepted students thread. You’d get some idea about your chances!

Second, just hope for the best! The decisions come out anytime soon. Good Luck to you! I hope you make it! Cheers! :)

Thank you!!! you also!
