Courseload: Tough as nails.

EC’s: Guitar, Programming, Fiction Writing, Piano.

Awards: Nat’l Merit Semifinalist, AP Scholar w/ Distinction

Extenuating Circumstance: Had brain surgery jr year, so my grades dropped. Rest of my academic record is spotless, senior year grades are good.

Match? Reach? High Reach?

Given your stellar SATs and because you have an explanation (and probably a compelling essay) to justify the somewhat weak GPA, I’d say you have a pretty decent shot (high match / low reach). (Keeping in mind the admit rate…)

Your explanation for the decline in grades should get you past that impediment. Your scores look great. Your ECs are a bit weak.

Brain surgery isn’t a legit excuse…probably reach.

ED- great chance
RD- decent chance to a bit of a reach

i think your reasoning is legit but do agree ecs a bit weak
with great recs and essays you could def land yourself a seat

Heh, 'till someone tells you that you’ve got a giant brain tumor, I don’t think you appreciate what it can do to someone. But, whatever, you’re entitled to your opinion.

I was kidding dude. That was meant to be a sarcastic statement. Obviously a brain tumor is a very legit reason.

How come the school didn’t give you a break for the brain surgery? My sophomore year when I got brain surgery they said not to worry about grades. Too bad your school was bad about that.

i think you have a solid shot. i think your rank will hurt you the most but def shouldn’t prevent you from getting in

Oh, whoops! I’m so sorry elementman322! :(

lol, looks like that brain tumor helped you out a bit! nice SATs!

you look like you have a great shot! i hope you make it in too,
i’m also hoping to get into WUSTL
are you in state?
